The 2007 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup season kicked off Sunday in Belgium where Georgia Gould led all Americans with an eighth-place finish in the elite womenandrsquo;s contest. Gould, the reigning USA Cycling Cross Country Mountain Bike National Champion, finished 4:49 off the pace of winner Ren Chengyuan of China and was one of four Americans in the 125-rider field to crack the top 20. In the menandrsquo;s race, Todd Wells turned in the fastest time of the nine-man U.S. contingent to place 36th, finishing 9:30 back from winner Jose Antonio Hermida of Spain.
