Which is one of the reasons why i have 110s on my coker. ๐Ÿ˜„ ๐Ÿ˜„

But these are long cranks? Why do you need brakes when you have such
    long cranks? :-P

Actually I am with Sam in that a drag brake is ideal, it is cheap, easy
to install and effective on down hills. I am currently testing the
Nimbus 36 with magura's and... hmmm yes it works. Most of the time
though I am happy without a brake, although I am slow down hills
    (especially with a broken arm).

Yeah 89mm or less are the best length; as I said before, why not just
weld your pedals to the top of each axle...would that be short enough?

  3. You are right 89 are lovely on a 36" but you do need flat smooth ground
to make the best of them.

As for pedals on the centre of the axle... isn't that thread jacking!
    BC 36".... Yeh.... Cool!

  4. I ride 110's on my N36 and have maguras on it. The main idea behind my
use of brakes is that downhill no longer requires the same amount of
work as uphill. Sure, I rode my 36 without brakes for 5 months, but if
I'm going out on a day trip I'd rather do a 50 mile hilly ride with
brakes and feel better when I arrived than do the same ride and feel
more worn down. Also, for my longer tours I'm going on this summer
(Hilly Hundred, ragbrai, RAIN) I'd really like the use of the brakes as
the first (obviously) is a very hilly ride, the second is just long and
it was suggested to me by a unicyclist thats done it before to have
brakes of some sort to ease the hills and the third is a bit hilly as
well since its in the same general area as the hilly 100. I've only had
my brakes installed for a short time, but I've definitely seen them
    come in handy downhill.

  5. I plan on getting a nice brake set very very soon.
With the recent riding I have done my coker with it's new handle I have
found I am going way to fast to not have a brake.
