i can tell you now there will be a difference. Thats what bike makers do.. every year they change their bikes.. so they can sell a bike under "this years latest model" tag.

I have surfed a bit around on different websites and so far it looks like the design is changed with another form on the seattube and this years (also last year I think) have printed Discovery Channel on the seattube instead of USPS!😎
The local dealer mentioned also that the 2004 mod was a 9-speed Ultegra and not 10-speed!
Correct me if its wrong!

Madone 5.2 in house. Just ride it home from the dealer, which is located only 20k away, but distanse enough to feel that this is a kinda dragracing bicycle.
Its like the bike ask you for pushing.....

I got a good price so I did not cross examinate the dealer about the model year.
Guess its a 2005. It was label under the downtube which says 28.November 2005, or produce Trek the 2006 bikes in advance!!

Anyway the bike is great.

Thanks for your reply. I have now used the bike for more than 10 months and are still not sure what Model year I in fact have got. Well at least before I see your message.

It is most likely that the dealer have mixed up things or even cheated me and that I have got a 2004/2005 because its no Carbon handlebar or Carbon wheels on my bike. Its however an Ultegra 10 speed.😕

HWA, go to www.trekbikes.com and click on road bikes. Then click on Race. Once there click on the 2007 models and in the drop down window you should see a 2006 archives tab. Click that and you'll get a chance to check out all the bikes.
