hi
seems like my knee is bugging me.
problem started with a uphill run about 20 days ago. that was a hard one and i could feel something
funny in my right knee halfway through the run. it wasn't pain but something sore/stiff kind of a
feeling...
that went away after i took it easy for a few days.
now, this week, i went for a hard run yesterday. i was trying to run hard (aiming for a 6:30ish
pace.) but after about a mile and a half, i could feel the knee starting to act up and slowed down.
i was able to finish the run at a 6:50ish pace without any pain. mile 2 was hilly. the knee spoke
roudabout after that.
there is no pain at all. just the feeling of something rubbing (at times, not always), something
stiff (at times, not always). i can stretch and do other stuff without any pain whatsoever.
i haven't really been increasing my mileage lately. it's still in the 5-20 mile range. shoes still
seem alright (visual inspection). only about 250-270 miles on them. i try to run on both sides of
the road. so i don't know what it could be that's causing this problem.
i think it's a combination of hills and speed.
i can hardly feel it, especially, when i run at a medium/easy pace. last week i was able to do a
couple of (essentially flat) 5 milers without any problem. so, it doesn't seem to be ITB, or is it?
i was reading the book - runner's repair manual - (by heizenfeld?) yesterday and followed the
directions to determine runner's knee and that too doesn't look like a candidate.
so, i'm wondering what this flower is? should i let it wither away by itself or should i nip it in
the bud? any suggestions/advice would be very much appreciated.
i have a 5K/10K this weekend. i'm also wondering if i should be risking it.
thanks jobs
