The original post was asking about the RTA Big Ride, which is a 9 day long distance event
(+100Km per day).

You're thinking of the RTA Cycle Syndey, about 60Km from North Sydney to Paramatta. We won't be
doing it again, not for the bottlenecks though, (hadn't been a problem for us?) but for the
transport options to the start. Every time we tried to use the trains we found them jam packed.
Ended up riding in to the start (and home from the finish) and got home faster than if we waited
for a free spot in the sardine cans. The distance wasn't a problem for us, but doing it on a
mountain bike- the potholes, and those bloody stairs when heading north over the bridge to get to
the start point. 80-90Km on a mountain bike is not comfortable at all.

And you have to battle with the sunday morning cage drivers through the city gettting there.

I have done all but one of the Big Rides (does that make me a sad case?)

They cater for every type of rider from the fast roadies to the plodding grannies.

You will be well fed, entertained and looked after.

You will get out of it more than you put in.
