We have a wireless Shimano Flightdeck on the front of the tandem along with a B & M Oval Senso Plus headlight which uses an LED.
I have discovered that when the LED is lit the speed and distance readings of the Flightdeck don't function.Obviously there is some interference of the computer signal between the sensor on the front fork and the head unit caused by the LED.
I wondered if anyone else had had this problem and if they overcame it as it has me stumped at the minute or is it,as I suspect, something we will have to put up with.

Can't help with your specific problem, but for what it's worth, you can pick up a wired mount for flight deck from ebay sellers for pretty cheap. Icyclesusa.com also sells them for pretty cheap. I had to replace my wireless mount and went with wired because it was so much cheaper and also easy to install. I hadn't had interference problems though.

I have had interference with a Polar 725X and a Lightbrain Twin Cycle Light Pulse width modulated controller hooked up to dual 10 W halogen lights. The adjacent wired Flight Deck computer was OK, whilst the Polar went mad. With the bike stationary on the bike repair stand and the headlights working my heart rate was 250 (should have been around 75 resting - but zero as I wasn't measuring it!) and the bike was doing 25 km/hr. Must have been a whole lot of RF radiating from the cables & controller.

Pulse-width controllers can indeed generate a fair amount of RF - I'd think the Flightdeck (/Polar) would operate around 433MHz where there shouldn't be enough controller RF left to cause problems, but never say never with regard to stray RF...
Not being a night rider I'll have to beg considerable ignorance... is the Lightbrain a single unit? Or are there cables connecting multiple units?
"Ferrite choke cores" (available at Radio Shack) can do wonders to filter this kind of interference. Following the provided instructions, put one core on each cable as close to the body of the controller (the unit with the knob) as possible.

Try moving sensor and wire for the headlight apart as far as possible, ie move the sensor over to the lh side of the fork.

The Lightbrain is just the controller (see http://lasertagparts.com/lightbrain/index.htm) it dangles on the wiring under the bars in a film container. Headlights (twin) are on either side of the stem and are connected to the controller with shielded cables. There is also a shielded cable for the operating pushbutton. I'll try the cores, Tandy=Radio Shack down here in OZ) but I still may need to do something about the controller and internal wiring nestling unshielded in the film container. (Can't see the Polar readout or the Flightdeck display at night anyway!) -- Bob C

Have just tried that,moved the sensor over and as high up the fork as possible,still the same.
Having thought about it I wondered if the problem may lie with the magnets in the Schmidt dynohub causing the interference.
Anyway with the sensor as far away as it can go we will have to put up with it.
