  1. Hi there have any of you had problems with Shimano Ultegra gearshifters?My front derailer wont change out of the top cog.I have only had the bike 5 months so i hope to claim warrenty,i have heard this does happen with Ultegra sometimes?

    Check your cabling ... if there is nothing obvious, then ...

    Bring it back to the shop you bought it from FOR AN ADJUSTMENT ... adjustments are generally FREE for the first year (or, longer).

    +1 on Alfeng's post, if it just won't work right you should get your shop to look at it.

    One quick thing to check, make sure the area underneath the bottom bracket shell where the cables run is clean. A couple of weeks ago just before a race my left shifter totally siezed up and I thought I was hosed with no time to get it fixed. I started looking at everything and was lucky to find that cytomax had dripped down there and created a sugary glaze on my cable. The rear was fine since I shift that one a lot but I'd spent a lot of time in my big ring and the front was glued up with the sugar water. I washed it off with soapy water, put a bit of dry lube on the cable and it's been great ever since but I check there more often now.
