G'day. All well I am pretty new to all of this so I figured here was a good place to get some advice. Basically I am after a flat bar road bike that is of semi-decent quaility and that can be used in longer rides say 70-80km.
I'm pretty sure I have narrowed it down to these 2.
Any advice or opinions on these. Does one have substantially better equipment than the other etc..

Scott is known for its quality, go with it. Both my dad and I ride Scott road bikes and we're really happy with it!

Thanks for the reply. That was my thinking that Scott would be a better quality bike in the long term.

Shogun Mach2 & Mach3 look good for the price. Could be hard to come by, as not a lot of LBS stock Shogun as it seems.

Also check out the Giant 2008 versions of the CRX3, CRX2 and CRX1.
