That white seat looks like an old school bmx bike seat. I had something similar to it on my Hutch Pro Racer but I broke it - was a Schwin Yo seat. Almost irreplaceable.

$340 for a seat hurts more than my butt!

They are a great saddle, but beware, red saddles rarely look as good as you think they are going to. and mismatched saddle and bartape colour looks bad too.

I found a box of them in an importer's warehouse. If you need one let me know. They make excellent tri saddles for salt water events. 😉

Looking good is all it will do for the bike , ask yourself how many professional riders would use seats like this other than in a short mountain timetrial !

Lol here in Italy that saddle costs about 200 euros... :-D a teammate of mine has one, and it's truly good. One of the best thing is the San Marco assistance: if you break a carbon saddle they'll replace it in very short times, and their warranty is of about 5 years (if I remember well). Ok I know that San Marco is an italian manufacturer and we can have them for less......

Check www.sellesanmarco.com, I suspect that that saddle, from Singapore (!) is not a real San Marco saddle. Beware!

Padding has nothing to do with saddle comfort.

Actually, the blue seat is very beautiful too and would look awesome on my Blue Kestrel Talon. But I'm very happy with the $5 OCR 1 (Selle Viper) seat that's on it. 340 g heavy but very comfy, especially for those long distance rides.

Are these seats supposed to be made in Italy or in Asia for Italy? If they are counterfeit I'd pay $300 shipped for both the red and blue one together. I don't mind some counterfeit stuff, and long as it's durable, high quality, looks good, and is cheap. Like counterfeit designer sunglasses.

Actually, my Cervelo AL Soloist F & F was from ebay from Singapore too. Makes me wonder if it was fished out of the factory that made Cervelos under contract. Cost me $968 vs about $1760 from a bike shop.

San Marco is re-furnished by a Taiwan manufacturer for carbon-fiber things.

I'd not buy that, I only wear SMP saddles, they're simply incredible. Do you have them in America?

You just don't get it, do you. The point is not about how good a counterfeit product may be, but the fact that it is counterfeit.

All you ever do in this newsgroup is go on and on and on about how you have several billion dollars worth of bicycles, and yet you are apparently unwilling to purchase an original seat? Why bother supporting the company that actually developed it, spent the money on its production, testing, marketing and sponsorship. 🙄

Why not just buy a 75 Euro frameset on Ebay and have someone paint it in Cervelo colors? That way you could tell us all what a deal it is.

Hey Pete - my original post was asking if the seat was a good buy at the $340 price because I didn't know the true value of the seat. And then the issue of counterfeit stuff arose / then it made me wonder if the seat was counterfeit. In the end I didn't buy it because ebay listers sometimes overprice their stuff too (and sell counterfeit stuff / I didn't know if it was genuine). Saw the same seat used in gray with a scuff sell for 121.00, so I'll fish for a used one instead.

Ebay sellers sell some real bad Chinese counterfeit stuff like a Motorola Bluetooth HT820 headset. Saw a post were someone complained about it.

Well, most of the time I'm for buying the original product, but sometimes that $150 engineering book copy that sells for $35 on ebay really gets me...

The bellatiosport link had them the cheapest but they didn't seem to be the exact same model or authentic though... Has anyone here bought from them? Are they good?

Maybe these didn't popup in my Google search because they didn't use the exact name of the saddle.

Hey - does anyone know if this seat would hurt your butt? I mean, there's absolutely no padding - only what you got in your biking shorts.
