My family has a history of heart disease and diabetes so I have been very keen to focus on cardiovascular exercise. However, despite about a 30-35 pound adipose tissue/fat loss over the last year, my lipid profile (HDL, LDL, Triglycerides) is staying flat on blood tests. So my question:
1) Is there a blood test that can surface the level of adipose tissue in the body or can this only be ascertained through body mass tests?
2) If cardiovascular exercise does not improve lipid profile and HDL/ LDL ratios, what does? I'd like to avoid the Niacin method if possible.
Remember these are just "markers" that are thought to "correlate" with certain "diseases." On my free site, I explain exactly what is known scientifically, down to the molecular levels, and also how simple dietary changes can make a huge difference to many people. If you take the time to read through the essays, you will have a much better idea about what is really important and what is most likely just statistical "noise."
