Its annoying for me because when asking for/collecting sponsorship
money for tunning the London Marathon the most common questions I am
asked are
"London Marathon - how long is that one?"
"How long is a Marathon?"

And I politely explain that all Marathons are 26 miles 385 yards
unless they are prefixed with "Ultra" or "Half" - sigh.

One of my colleagues suggested entering this race (its only 70 miles
away) but nobody took her seriously, I can't find it on Runners
World.

1993????? Christ sakes that horse has gotta be using a walker by now.
He's a walking, no stumblin' hamburger, not a race horse. And if THAT
weren't enough, he spotted him half the distance? I mean WTF? That's
pathetic. Now the jackass is going to "take the boxing world by storm"
by fighting Muhammad Ali's grandma, and then racing Al Unser's great,
great grandfather, to storm the racing world.

It was a hot day according to the article and that gives people an
advantage. I was reading "Discovery" and there were test if people
were made to run distance. We have certain advantages especially in
the heat. We have sweat glands, no hide, fur, and our muscles are
built for longer distance. So I wouldn't call 11minutes a crashing
defeat in hot weather against an horse but it still was a good time.

The horse was 20 years old, over the hill in horse years, and he
spotted the guy half the distance. I could beat a rocketship if they
spotted me half the distance. That's ridiculous.
