Salted Nut Bars

none

1 box yellow cake mix
1 egg beaten
2/3 cup butter
1 bag miniature marshmallows
1/4 cup butter
2/3 cup corn syrup
1 1/4 cups peanut butter (smooth)
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups salted peanuts or mixed nuts

Mix together cake mix, egg, and butter and press into ungreased 11 X
14 inch pan. Bake at 325 for 15 minutes. While hot, pour miniature
marshmallows on top. Put back in the rack of oven for 5-9 minutes to
melt but not brown. Cool.

Melt peanut butter in microwave. Add 1/4 cup butter, corn syrup and
vanilla. Pour this mixture over marshmallows. Sprinkle top with
peanuts. Press Peanuts into top of bars and let cool. Cut into
squares.

Optional:

Keil had a good idea spread melted chocolate chips over it before
pressing
in the nuts.

Note: mixed nuts or other than peanuts works well.

True enough. In my younger days I spent a lot of time in bars, sitting
around drinking with my friends. It used to fun to go in with friends, but
after spending too much time there I came to realize that the regulars
didn't really have friends. they just had drinking buddies. I think what
did it for me in one of my favourite bars was when one of the gang
committed suicide and I realized that no one cared. They never saw it
coming, didn't bother going to his funeral, forgot all about him.

I rarely go to bars anymore. It's a waste of time and money.

Damn, I guess there are a lot of us that don't frequent bars. Last time I
was at one was last year traveling in Europe, a few of us had a drink at the
hotel bar before going to bed. Before that, probably 5 years ago waiting
for a table at a restaurant. Before that, probably another 5 or 10 years.

Last (and only) time I was drunk was about 40 years ago. The next day I
realized how dumb it was and never did that again. Two drinks is pretty
much my limit and that is at home or socializing at a friends house or
possibly some event like a wedding or holiday party.

I do have and enjoy a good selection of top shelf liquors, liqueurs, and
about 150 bottles of wine. Had my last bottle of beer with a kielbasa
sandwich for dinner last night. Next week or three I'll get some more.

Canyon, CA).

They had Carlsberg dark and Carlsberg light on tap and a combination
of the two was called a "half'n'half." My friend, George Van Noy, fell
off a barstool and passed out on the floor one night after declaring,
"Life is a process of communication." Carlsberg light referred to the
colour, not the alcohol content.

Otherwise, I enjoy the very occasional drink with family and friends
in the bar at Schappa Rock restaurant in the Tutukaka Marina - around
five to eight minutes down the coast from us. It's also a great place
to eat and a favourite of Tutukaka Coast locals.

Just too numerous to mention here in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Plenty of
great ars, female bar compaions, male bar companions, and plenty of
international food and room rates at reasonable prices.
