  1. Ingredients for Almond Cream Ice
    1/4 pound blanched and thoroughly dried almonds
    1 pint water
    2/3 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    A few grains salt

    Instructions
    Grind the almonds through a food chopper that has a food chopper that
    has a disk for grinding nut butter.
    Mix the almond paste with the water and salt.
    Cook in a double boiler till creamy.
    Cool, add the sugar and vanilla, and freeze.

    Gee, that's a lot of sugar. For 2 cups cream, plus 1 cup milk, I only use
    1/2 cup sugar (and 1 teaspoon vanilla).

    I think the explanation is that our drive by poster
    seems to have garbled things. Notice that the actual
    recipe is for "Almond Cream Ice", not almond ice cream
    as in the subject line.

    It's a recipe for an "ice", not an ice cream. Kind of
    an almond sorbet type of thing. It's not as bad as it
    sounds.
