That goodness this whole mess is being played out in Europe. If this was taking place in the USA they (lawyers) would file some sort of injunction to permit the riders who are in question to continue to ride until the investigation could be completed. This of course would take at least two years and millions of dollars to complete. I salute the teams in question and the Tour De France officials who are making an all out effort to take care of this problem! It is evident that doping has been purvasive within the pro ranks for many years. The winners were able to dust their trail better than others and not be detected. I was convinced early on that Lance and Floyd were not doping, but the more I see/hear and evaluate the facts they had to be. Since Basso/Ulrich...etc have been caught it is impossible for me to believe a clean Lance could beat a doping Basso for the title. No way. He was just ahead of the game at the right time with the right Doctor and scheme. I love the sport and hope the officials will be diligent in their efforts to remove the dope problem.

I agree. Instead of Landis being suspended for 4 years, he's going to drag it out another several in court first, and then get suspended anyway. Or does your suspension run concurrently with your court fight? That wouldn't seem right. Let's ask Tyler.
Don't forget though, what makes Landis and Tyler Hamilton contemptible is not cheating, but taking donations from their fans to pay their lawyers. 😠
If the RAZ proves he was not in Italy, then this TDF will be the biggest joke since I have followed it. Somehow, this should put the issue to rest. And isn't it easy to prove you were never in Italy with the passport? This should have been cleared up right after the allegations were made. What was leading up top a very exciting finish is now a "who cares?" Everyone loses. Contador may win yellow, Evans may win yellow, and if it is discovered that the chicken really was sipping margarita's in Mexico ????????? This is a sign that the TDF/UCI management must go. Rabobank was pressured to do what they did........ If not, and the chick is not guilty of country hopping, then I hope Rabobank loses it's ProTour license. And has very deep pockets.

What has changed is the organizations now enforcing the rules in a very scattered way.

Agreed that the whole system is in chaos. But again, Ras is the one who brought this on himself by not complying with the system while preparing for the Tour. As he and Vino found out, they will be hung out to dry, "fair" or not. After the Landis situation they should have known better.

How about saying this guy must have doped because he missed doping controls in May and June, AND he didn't report his whereabouts according to the rules, AND he lied about his whereabouts, AND his true whereabouts were supposedly training at altitude where some "specialist" doctors are known to be, AND he was having the BEST performance, AND because everyone else does.

I still think that's a bit of a leap. Who knows why he lied exactly. Maybe he wants to avoid people and press. Maybe he has a mistress. I'm not condoning any of his actions, but again...How does this equal doping and where is the positive result?
