I don't really have a favorite...

I rather enjoy King's writings. C.S. Lewis is entertaining as well.

The Bible, To Kill a Mocking Bird, Uncle Johns Bathromm readers series, and any Calvin and Hobbes book.

Harry Potter and the seven sexy elves.

I am not very smart so at first i thought "bored" was a typo but it's really a book!!! Count me in. going to my LBS (local book store, not a chain) and getting a copy.... let ya know how it goes..

Wow, I am just starting to read the stuff I SHOULD have read during High school. Not too sure I want to revisit the Heights... Way too smart for me.. After all, it's in ENGLISH. I dig P.J. though. gotta love a cynic...

Yeah - I think George Orwell was a very insightful writer about the human condition and 1984 exemplifies his ability to read human behaviour well.
I like most of Orwells stuff.

I also like John LeCarre too.

But most of my reading is non-faction variety.

The last book I read was Ishmael. it's definately not my favorite.

Before that, I read Chriton's new one called Next.

Both of these had apes in them.

I don't know about favorite but I'll say "Ghost Rider" by Neil Peart.
It's about a 50,000 mile journey he took on his BMW Motorcycle after losing his wife and daughter in less than a year.

FYI: He's the drummer/lyricist for Rush, and and big bicyclist.

Non-fiction - Normally I'd put Cadillac Desert by Marc Reisner, but I haven't read that for awhile, so I'll go with one I just recently re-read - The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe.

Favorite authors - Kim Stanley Robinson, Jim Harrison, Harlan Ellison, Hunter S. Thompson, CJ Cherryh, PJ O'Rourke

I'd go more towards the idea that we are combining the worst aspects of BNW and 1984 quite nicely.
