  1. Hi,

I'm 20 years old, did my first half marathon in may in 2h and training
to do a full marathon in may 2008.
I'm 6 foot tall and 140 Lbs. Been training on and off since april, but
starting to take it more seriously now.

I went to my local supplement store to get some information and bought
some amino acids (amino vital) supplements on the recommendation of
the sales person who is also a trainer and did the iron man.

Now, I know some have strong opinions on supplements, but I just want
to know if those supplements actually helps. The guy looked at me with
a weird face when I said to him I often don't take anything after my
    training.

I also bought a polar (the basic 60$ model) heart rate monitor. I was
never introduced about looking at my heart rate before, so if some one
could point me what to target, it would be great.

    Thanks
