It would depend if it was corn-fed or grass-fed.

And your second question implies that it would have to be killed
first. I'd have to wait until it dies of natural causes or tries
to eat me first.

I will let you know that I voted, and voted the last choice, but not for the
reasons listed before it.....
You see too many reports about mad cow disease and it's effects. The
disease is caused by feeding herd cattle feed including the remnants of of
other herd cattle, an animal form of cannibalism. A recent documentary on
the south pacific islanders showed a number of older tribes people afflicted
with an uncontrollable shaking disease (similar to mad cow in cattle). When
some of them consented to be taken out of the jungle setting for evaluation,
it was determined that these islanders had been up until their recent
brushes with 'civilized' society, cannibals.......not eating other people
for food, but for victory celebrations, to gain the strength of the dead
warrior, etc. The disease only afflicted those who actually participated in
the cannibalism. Apparently it has been determined that to eat the meat of
what you are has a nasty effect on the body, whether you be cow or long
pig.....so no, I wouldn't eat human meat (long pig).....I think I would
finally become a vegetarian.

You see it one way, I see it another.... I humbly apologize, Sensei (sp?)

In mitigation, I was never very good at "cutting a long story short",
and I haven't improved with age.

The second answer started out like this:

"You would eat it if you were starving to death yourself and there was
absolutely no other way for you to survive, BUT you could only do so if
somebody else had murdered it already, as you could not bring yourself
to actually kill another person in order to ensure your own survival".

BTW, "Only if it died of natural causes" didn't fit for the first answer
either - but I wrongly assumed (again) that people would see what I was
getting at, from the second one... <Cathy slaps herself about the head>

Unfortunately, if I extended the backend of the survey to accommodate
such long answers it could no longer be called "quick", and more
importantly, it would not look very "pretty" on the home page of site -
and I just cannot bring myself to do that, under any circumstances....

Finally, I apologize, yet again, to all the members of r.f.c. (if they
haven't already nodded off) for responding to your post, Mr Wertz,
thereby "rising to the bait" - but I just cannot help myself, sometimes.

The average woman has 35,000 calories (ten pounds) of reserves on her
hips (a more polite term than butt). This may be more intended for
lactation than starvation. Lactation is 1000 calories a day. My wife
and I had some arguments over food when she was lactating. She didn't
do vegetarian then.

The only real danger to long term fasting is the danger of electrolyte
imbalance.
