Thankyou everyone for your advice/assistance with my wheels particularly
landotter, datakoll, and jim beam. I went out and bought a pair of Sun
Cr-18's [thanks landotter for the suggestion] and laced them up. They are
great. They were the correct handedness so the valve hole is in the same
spot. They feel much more solid/reliable than the old set and the braking
is noticeably better. Plus the wheels are nice and shinny.
