After I spent hours making a fiberglass mount for my camera and bolting it to a full face helmet I picked up used, I did one ride with it in August that I forgot about, I just edited the tape the other day. Sad really. "Maybe next year." as I'm known to say.

If you look around on ebay there are a few "spy cams" or security cameras that are essentally the same as the helmet cams you see elsewhere. I picked up a new one for $30 (us) that is about the size of a 9v battery and the quality is really quite good. All you need is a camera that has video in and you're rolling.
Nice. I like the rocky trail. Canadian trail? What's the location (looks like eastern CA)?

MMM, smooth trails. The video started out very blurry, then progressed to mildly blurry... but the quality was still quite good! Looking forward to next year's vids.

It's just some local singletrack here in Cape Breton. Looks really sad now that all the leaves are down and everything is grey, that tunnel effect you get in the summer is gone and it's hard to pick out the trail at speed. -- _________________________ Chris Phillipo - Cape Breton, Nova Scotia ramsays-online.comramsays-online.comOpen ↗

Better than anything I can ever do. What trail is that?

Can-Am Girls Kick Ass!
We don't name our trails, the whole network of about 15km is just known as "Wilf's Place" because Wilf's is where where usually park the cars. There's at least 6 trail heads in there each with 3 to 6 ways to go so if you don't leave with the group chances are you will never find them 🙂 Unfortunately I didn't have the camera on for the first lap when I had a guy in front of me on that fast narrow downhill, I was heckling him, "Faster! You're holding me up old man! Go! go! go!" and he started a chain reaction pinball sort of thing off the trees until he finally flipped over the bars and disappeared into the ferns. It was pretty funny. I can make him do it again I'm sure 🙂 -- _________________________ Chris Phillipo - Cape Breton, Nova Scotia ramsays-online.comramsays-online.comOpen ↗
I figure it's ok to use a britney spears song so long as it is adequately raped by Prodigy. There was a stick lying diagonally across the trail over a dip and my front wheel just kind of tried to follow it. I just ejected over the bars and landed on my feet. The 50 minutes of 5mph bumps and roots don't make for very good viewing so you will never see those unless you ride here 🙂. If you try to zoom it past 100% it looks like [censored]. -- _________________________ Chris Phillipo - Cape Breton, Nova Scotia ramsays-online.comramsays-online.comOpen ↗
I like the "effect" where you turned the music off when you fell off the bike, then turned it back on when you started riding again!

Ah. I kept rewinding to see what it might be, but never saw it (yeah, slow day). Friggin' diagonal roots. I'm guessing it was a little soggy out there? I ran into a bunch of those my last ride.
If you know they're coming (and you're not going uphill), you can pop the front wheel over and just try to deal with your back wheel whipping sideways wildly (a trick I figured out after falling down repeatedly while riding a rental bike in Pupukea). Its just a really uncomfortable feeling when the bike is moving sideways!
