Good win for Ignatiev of Tinkoff on stage 1.

He got away in a breakaway and lead home form 10kms out.

He finished solo : good win for the 22 yo.

I saw Ignatiev at the Tour de L'Avenir and was very impressed. If his development continues like it has until now he will have an impressive career.

by the way, somebody else I saw at the Tour de L'Avenir was Robert Gesink (3rd at todays queen stage of the Deutschlandtour).....

I am planning to do the Tour de L'Avenir again this year, its one of my favourite races...

Yes, Ignatiev impressed me at the Giro this year - he rode really well there and got up the road on several stages.
Very impressive rider for only 22 years of age.

Gesink is at the Pro-Tour team now (Rabo). He has a contract until.... 2012! He is surely a man to watch.

Damn good race today i thought. Mountain top finishes always are though i suppose. Soler is a beast, didnt even realise he was competing in this till today. Such an unusual climber in so many ways.

He has got to have one of the ugliest riding styles out there!

Stage 2 win for Mauricio Soler of Barloworld.

Very tough final HC climb today : steep gradient.
Piepoli and Valverde were unable to contain him.

Good stage again - lovely part of the world where todays stage was held.

You think Soler will win the GC lim?

I mean it's only a very short time trial 15k or something, so he can't lose too much time on it, and there's another mountain stage to go i think...

I always love to see pure climbers winning GC's

Have Barloworld got Hunter competing for in this? They have a pretty strong team considering they arent even pro tour.

He finished 7thin the ToB last year according to ES.

Didn't see Hunter listed.
But he could be in there.

Great to see Barlo world getting some results.
Shame that they weren't allowed a PT licence in 06.

I was going with Valverde but it looks like Soler might have it all the way.

Well todays stage was pretty stupid,a s far as the british eurosport coverage goes. Due to a tailwind the riders were massivly ahead of schedulle so we only saw the last 6 km 🙁

sigh less then 10 mins of coverage when there should have been at least half an hour. damn wind

I watched as I'm working from home today..... he held on by 2 seconds from Velverde ! big day tomorrow but no time bonuses so looks like Solar has it in the bag.....

British ES are showing the highlights of todays stage NOW.

If a live action "Triplets of Belleville" were ever made, Soler would be a shoe in.

Not yet.... Todays mountain stage could be exiting...
Unfortunally I will not be able to watch it, I have to work in the Netherlands.
