The local SuperGo has a 2002 K2 full-suspension bike with a model name of "Xterra". It looks like the Razorback and has a very nice set of components. Price is $999.
I've looked at the K2 site and around the 'net and don't find any info on a K2 Xterra.
Anyone know what this is? I'm interested in it because the components are much nicer than on any other $1k bike I've looked at ( it's also 2 model years old).

The bottom line is that you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. You can dress up a walgoose in XTR and it will still be a crappy bike. It all starts and ends at the frame.
Just browsed Supergo and found the Razorback Team (01) for $999. Haven't ridden one, but have heard it is a very nice XC frame if you're not doing drops and freeride stuff. Don't see anything on an Xterra except for the K2 affiliation with either the SUV or the athletic event. Maybe a packaging change at the retailer level to clear out old stock ?

Thanks. It turns out that it is an '02 Razorback Team, which has an Xterra decal added to it. They have them on their website for $1599 but I guess they are getting anxious to unload them as it's $999 in the store.
