Womens World Cup

Nope, not really. Football season is back on here in Europe, and the Rugby Worlds are happening next door also!

I know, American Football is going here in the states as well. The Womans WC is on early in the morning here in California... I watch it while I'm running on the treadmill. Very enjoyable sofar.

Man! it was dumping rain in Shanghai during the Nigeria vs. U.S. match today, tons of rain. Some great saves by Solo and Dede today to keep the score at 1/0.

Caught a bit of the WWC the other night................it's shown live here at an ungodly hour.......and with the Rugby World Cup on as well and the Champions League starting too, viewing is restricted (unfortunately!).

I actually really enjoy the WWC, but unfortunately here in AZ the games are all in the middle of the night/Early morning. I think it is the only female sport I enjoy.

Well, when I have the chance I will watch women's road cycling, and it is often quite exciting.

I will keep you guys posted.... I just think Brazil is going all the way.

What a contrast to the men, Argentina didn't score a goal and probably shouldn't have unpacked. The girls on this team didn't seem to be very good at any aspect of the game. I could have checked Argentina's FIFA ranking, but you know how that goes... 🙄 Or at least I have found, the rankings don't translate very well to these tournaments.

I know Brazil, U.S., German (others) squads scrimmage against men's team. Maybe Argentina needs to adopt this approach.

Norway will beat China by a goal ? This is a tough one, Norway, good around the goal but China very good at posession and got some girls that can bend it.

Wow! Good job by the Ausie's... They lost but could have won it as well, they gave Brazil a hell of a time.

Germany over Norway by two and U.S. and Brazil,,,close your eyes and throw the dart.

Should be good matches.

I know Germany and England are favorites but those Brazilian gals look pretty tuff,,,, fast, good ball handlers (😄 ) and strikers.

I've watched a little of the US games. I just got into watching soccer a couple of years ago and the English Premier League has spoiled most of the rest. Women's soccer suffers from the same shortcomings as MLS but to a greater degree, it's slow and the level of skill rarely impresses.

It also doesn't help that the games I've seen had largely empty stands and little atmosphere, again not too unlike most MLS games.

All the momentum gained in the 90's went out the door when the gals lost the pro league. I really enjoyed the WC when it was here in the States-the team was exciting back then.
