D.M. Procida said:A friend and I went to watch a race at the Maindy track in Cardiff this
evening, then to a Japanese restaurant on Cowbridge Road East in Canton.
While we were in there, between about 9.30 and 10.45, our bikes were
stolen.
Churchill insurance have been pretty good.
My old bike (Dawes Horizon) was recovered, but somewhat bashed up.
Churchill agreed that to have it restored to its previous condition
would be about as much as it would cost simply to replace it, and will
send an appropriate cheque.
They've also let me buy it back from them. My local bike shop is doing
it up for me; it won't be as it was, but functionally it should be as
good as before.
And I bought a secondhand Bianchi Via Nirone 7 from ebay:

I had to take the train to Stockport for it, but the seller was there
waiting for me. The bike looks immaculate. I've never ridden anything
like it, it's amazing.
I think the reach to the drops is a bit long for me - I'll probably have
to put a shorter stem on. Otherwise, it feels perfect.
