  1. Racism.
    Doping.

Sorry to interrupt but, there's actually a race on today, called Paris Tours.
Won by Eirk Zabel two seasons ago..it's a race for the roadmen who can sprint at the finish.

I'm going for Cancellara to win.

Lim, no offense here, but if you want to talk about cycling why don't you find a forum that is about cycling? We have other issues here that seem to concern us..............
    Just kidding.........

Zabel????? Does he have another win in his legs? I sure hope so. My biggest hope over the past years for any rider was to see Erik in the rainbow jersey. But I think that is beyond him now.
Cancellara? Good choice as you know Riis always comes prepared.
I just have a feeling this Paris-Tours has a Australian podium written all over it........

  3. Cancellara? How about someone who can sprint? It will be Freire.

But he better not race today since everyone else will be racing tomorrow. :p

I hope lim isn't waiting at the finish line today, wondering why the crowd is so small.:p

Its the 101th edition of Paris - Tours. (with S) In Tours there are always thousands and there will be huge crowds again today. Its a nice race and my pick is... Gilbert.

Gilbert....... Interesting choice. What is it that makes you think Gilbert can pull it off? He's a Belgium , isn't he?

Yes he is Belgium. Gilbert is always ready to attack, had good form at the worlds and he deserves it. Zabel last win of Paris-Tours was after Gilbert was caught about 300 meters before the line... And I know he definitly wants to give it a go today...

Well, maybe he can give Zabel another ride to the line today. I just hope Zabel has a respectable few years as he nears retirement. Of all the riders, he is one that has represented the sport of cycling well. This past year he did no deserve the [censored] he took from the "Let's hang em high " crowd of judgemental do gooders.

Is Gilbert a 500 meter road sprinter or does he usually go from much farther out????? What is th elast 2km's like at the finish?

The season ends on a very high note for me..........

Peta won, Gilbert, Pozzato & Kroon were caught... a few 100 meters before the line...

I love the pure sprinters...........Even though they rarely do their fair amount of work in 99% of the race..........

    Good call on Gilbert though......

So now....... we have finished the finale race. Nothing here to discuss until next year.........
Of course we could discuss if Lance doped....... I'm not sure if that subject has been covered yet.
It's going to be a long cold winter without cycling........

STOP! My favourite fall classic is still to come (next Saturday): the Giro di Lombardia!!!

  13. wolfix, with 2500 posts to your credit I'm sure you could find something to say, at least on the Dying thread. We need some more kids to play with over there...

Just finished watching.... McEwen pulled his foot in the sprint and darn near took the filed out..... Pettachi won because McEwen took out Davies and Oscar...... lucky win... but he'll take it........ and farking Pozzato ! Why wouldn't he work with Gilbert and Kroon ?

    Tour of Lombardy ?

With DiLuca out for 4 months Evens wants to take the ProTour title.... and he can....... that would be nice.....

Because Philippe is in a great shape and he would have won??? Serious: I didn't understand that either, they would have made it.

After I turned 50 I have avoided anything with the words "dying" in the subject line. And no matter how hard I try, I just cannot seem to turn the clock back..........
However, if you can start a thread that contain any of the words ........." bad women", "beer", and even "tubulars", then I will join in....... All three of those things have caused me trouble then "maybe" what they were worth. Then again....... maybe not.
My mother gave me her annual lecture the other day........ It always starts out the same....."Was it worth it?" My family finds me to have rather warped views........
Got me thinking here ............ Maybe my problem is that I have not had enough bad women, beer, and good tubulars.
I got a fridge full of beer, and my tubies may still hold air..... How are you for being a bad woman? I want a real bad woman..... really bad???????

cyclingheros...... me bad. Giro di Lombardi is a great one........

  18. Nice win for Ale-Jet, no matter what else everyone did or did not do! 😉

Now, who will win the Lombardia next week? Can Bettini make it two in a row?

  19. Excellent effort from Gilbert who is in great shape but what were those other deadweights doing? Any breakaway is always in danger of being hauled in down the long finishing straight but even so, they were doomed by Pozzato's clownish antics. What was his game?

Lombardia... hmmm Bettini could do it but to be honest I don't really care...

I hope that Boogie at least will be able to start at his final race (Boogerd will retire after Lombardia and crashed during training on Friday... it doesn't look good...)
