  1. When you do a recovery run after a long run are you thinking:

    - a slow run is better than taking a day off for recovering from the
    stress/damage of a long run

    or

    - there's no specific benefit to a recovery run but I want to maintain
    mileage and I can only do so after a long run by running slowly

    both, neither, something else entirely?

    I can go look up what the experts think. I'm more interested in your
    own rationale.
