  1. Ended up with enough mixture for a large 23cm square one and a loaf.

The loaf is now all gone!!

The SO, up till this time an avowed anti-fruit cake person, has had more
    than her share!!

Further tastes were given to our resident restaurant owners who also
declared it the best they've tasted!!

So now there's only the big one left, and that is safely wrapped in the
baking paper it was cooked in, with alfoil enclosing the lot, and is stored
on the bottom of the pantry where it will 'rest' till Christmas time.

The finished pictures are in the same folder as the others.......

I'll have to transcribe the recipe, will do so shortly.

Not feeding it at the moment, I think it's had enough to drink already!!

3/4 cup of Brandy and same of red wine, with an extra 4 tablespoons of
brandy thrown in for good measure :-)

You're inspiring me. I usually make them in August, otherwise not.
Maybe I'll make some anyway this year.

Well, when you get a chance, I'd welcome the recipe!

We've always kept our fruitcakes wrapped in brandy/rum soaked cheesecloth,
    then in foil.

I love a good fruit cake. Yours looks very yummy!
We did like Wayne mentioned. Rum soaked, wrapped in cheese cloth
and stored in tins for months. Heavenly!

Well... I find your pics pretty awesome. OTOH I am like your SO. I
detest fruit cake. We had one floating around the family as a joke for
about 7 years. It would be wrapped and put under someone's tree with a
name tag on it. It finally got lost. One of my brothers had it in the
back window of his car. He took the car to be detailed. The detail man
threw it out thinking it was debris left in the car accidentally.
