Anyone ever travel on a Freighter?

freighter travel a little.

Anyway, I looked up on the net. There is more than I anticipated.

Have any of you cycle tourists done a ship trip to go cycle?

David,,, wow,, that woman is serious!

I went to her web site. She only put a very small amount on the site about
her freighter trip etc.
She is writing a book, it seems.

She must have hit the lottery or something. She has spent most of her life
traveling about.... she nevers
mentions a JOB.

We should all be so lucky.

The currency of choice is the Euro.

Here we are dying in Iraq and our dollar is worthless, gas is over $3 and
going up and ...

What my rants means is: to puchase a passage on a ship, it will cost the
posted fee plus the difference in dollar value.

Oh, and another thing... there are no American ships. The ships are all
registered in places like Liberia.

Even the cruise ships are registered in some far off [censored] hole.

Great Country the USA... I mean it was a great country.

Early in her cycling career she was a cook and delivered her
meals by bicycle trailer.

Now she writes books and bicycle magazine articles.

And have you been to Liberia? Just curious why you assume it's such a
terrible place. It may, in fact, be, but traveling has shown me that many
places don't live up to their reputations, in a fortunate way.

It's certainly not a destination for a sane-person's idea of a romantic
getaway. But it's also not the same place it was just a few years ago. There
