  1. I was riding home from school today and a boy "hanging out" or "chillin"
under a tree by a junior high shouted and kindly informed me that "[censored]
ride unicycles". I just thought I would relay this information to you
guys in case you were unaware. Enjoy your day.

  2. wow, thanks for sharing. i've never noticed this before, i guess its a
    good thing to know.

seriously, that sucks. i get stuff said to me like that all the time,
about anything i do(im not very popular AT ALL:o ). i have just learned
to ignore it and keep going. or if someone makes fun of me when i fall
doing a trick i offer my unicycle to them and ask them to show me how
to do it( that'll shut 'em up!). as i get older i get less remarks but
    it is still annoying.

  3. This girl that lives in my neighborhood used to really be my friend, but
once I started unicycling she always gives me weird looks.. 😕

I have to admit, before I started unicycling and saw some videos and
stuff, I didnt think this was very cool.. But I didnt think that it was
    bad or anything

People always tell me that im too poor to get another wheel and say
that unicycling is stupid because ''It takes too much concentration to
balance" and "you only do it for attention", and I try to explain to
them that its actaully really fun.. But they are too close minded 😠

I dont think my parents even like me unicycling.. 🙁

  4. I think this is my favorite form of harassment. I'm not sure how to deal
with the comment you got as it is worded. I like the "are you gay" or
"are you a [censored]" comments because I can reply to them, "why are you
looking for homosexual men?" Or, with the pause, a slightly different
meaning, "why, are you looking for homosexual men?" This is always a
shut down, slam dunk response. I suppose it would work for your comment
    also.

  6. I know nobody on this forum is comfortable even reading this word...

But I had a person say "N***ers ride Unicycles", to which I replied,
"Well throw me in the gas chamber then", it was a guy at school who
whenever I see him I tell him to shave his head... he carved a
Swatsticka into his chest and has like 3 foot long hair... yeah my High
    School is pretty messed up.

  13. no one harasses me... Ive never had any trouble making freinds, and i
dont really have any people i hate/hate me.
i think it depends on your attitude.

when someone makes a comment like, "your gay" just look up at them and
squint your eyebrows and shake your head left and right. it makes them
feel really stupid. i do it all the time. the trick is too make full
    eye contact. They'll be shocked....
or your could just yell at them. like a random insult. its funny.
    example:

    Random guy: Your gay
    You/ME: your shirts too small

    Random Guy: Your Gay
    You/Me:your moms gay

    Random Guy:Your gay
    You/Me:your ugly (my favorite)

    Random Guy:your gay
You/Me:MAKE FULL EYE CONTACT, start riding towards them, and shake your
head like your ashamed of them.

    hope that helps!
    -Riley

p.s.-being mean to someone you know doesnt help anything. just be nice
back to them and it will [censored] em off even more. if your get [censored]
you just give them what they want.

    -Riley
edit:oh yeah. dont get down on yourself why your not popular. if your
always sad, no one will wanna talk to you and be freinds with you. just
    be yourself.

  16. I'm 49 years old and have been riding unicycles for 3 years. I have
never heard anyone personally ever make a negative comment about
unicycles. Most people make positive comments like, "that really takes
a lot of balance, I would break my neck if I tried that". The worst
comment that I might get and it is not even negative is: "you lost your
other wheel". My standard reply is: "nope this is all I need".

As a joke my 7 year old daughter who also now rides unicycles, made me
a T-shirt that says, "REAL MEN ONLY NEED ONE WHEEL". She actually made
me wear it a couple of weeks ago when we went out riding together.

  17. Here in Brazil when i go to ride around my house, a lot of peoples make
jokes... Some are a little bit more "ignorants" than others... but when
i do something cool like a unispin or a big side hope... They like...
Here just a very limited group knows what is unicycling...

I ride Biketrial's too... Some friends of mine rides BMX's... but they
are a disaster riding.... So when i arrived at my school with my bike
and i made some cool stuff everybody liked...

When i arirved at the school with my uni everbody joked with me... in
the range between the classes i made some trials lines... Even my
teachers and the school officcals liked!!! Even some high school girls
liked... and they are hot 😄 !

But no one knows that no one born knowing how to ride a uni and doing
some cool tricks... So the biggest part make jokes... It's a great
    prejudice!

When i showed to my friends some videos of Xav and other french guys
riding, they asked me where they can buy a uni here! A irony... because
    they joked with me!

It is a diferent sport, we aren't popular... but unicycling in
    growing... and very fast BTW!
In the last two year unicycling grew what Biketrials grew in 5 or 6
years... In the Latin american version of the X-Games in Brazil we have
a Biketrials dual lane... Uni is not SO distant of some Highlight!

Unicycle can easy turn into a "cool" sport... A uni it's something that
a mom or a dad can buy in a toy store to his son... Like a
skateboard... It isn't big, it's funny and even the parents can ride!

Here in brazil we have just 1 uni manufacturer... And he have interests
just in juggling... So it's harder to make everything...
One Koxx uni costs something about R$1200,00 (if you bring it from USA
with you, if you import it with all taxes something like R$2500))...
And our minimum wage is R$365,00... So just a class B or A citizen can
    buy it!

It's hard to turn uni into something very cool, but i believe that will
happen! And it's not so far!
While this is not happening, i just ignore what the other peoples think
about me! i'm Happy riding unicycles!...

In some years maybe who jokes with you, will buy a uni to his son!

Best Regards... And Keep riding, whatever they think of you, keep
    riding!!

    Pedro.
