Softride seat height

your legs should have an a angle of 150-160 degrees, 1800 been
completely extended. also the saddle should be about 1-2 inches closer
to the handlebars as opposed to a regular road bike. i hope this helps

Thanks Carlos, that is very helpful. I was also hoping to get info on
the mechanical aspect of seat height adjustment. There are two bolts
that attach the beam to the frame, the lower of the two is some type
of eccentric. To adjust the height do you remove this bolt and turn
the eccentric? My concern is that there might be something that would
be difficult to re-assemble if this bolt is removed so I thought I'd
be safe and ask first. Thanks.

I doubt if the other poster replying to you understood that the
Softride beam suspension is completely different from a standard
bike frame, but I have a friend who has one, so I know how
strange they are.

His is a mountain bike, and I found the bouncing just a little
too weird for me.

You're right that one is an eccentric for saddle height while the other is
for locking it in. You just loosen both of them and adjust. I'd recommend
removing them both at some time to see how they work since it's not
intuitive (to me at least). These parts are available for (recommended)

While it's possible these bikes may never be produced again, they're
wonderful, fast, comfortable machines.
