  1. i can hop backwards easy but why is hopping forwards so much harder to
    do ?

    try hopping with your other foot forwards
    you might have your stronger leg on the back pedal?

    I had the same experience when first trying to hop
    make sure your cranks are level with the ground when you are hopping

    Shouldn't be. I have my strongest foot on the back pedal and I jump
    fine.
