  1. I am making a seafood cassarole this evening, and the recipes that I have looked at say to cook
shrimp first. SInce the cassarole says to bake at 350 for 30 minutes, wouldn't the shrimp cook
enough during baking? It seems like they would be overcooked if I boiled them first. Thanks.

They should cook with the casserole.

I've no doubt they would cook raw, but perhaps pre-cooking them would remove the moisture that may
otherwise interfere with the other ingredients. IOW, not pre-cooking may give you a casserole that
may end up a bit too runny.

The thought occured to me because some of my shrimp recipes also call for pre-cooking to obtain a
    shrimp stock.

I'd be interested to hear how yours turned out.
