To go back to the OP, although generally I agree with him, I wouldn't
have expressed my opinion so emotionally. The difference between Boris
and Ken is that the latter had an anti-car agenda, whereas the former

Almost every day I suffer car noise, cars passing far too closely, cars
driving too aggressively, cars following me too close behind for comfort.
I'm a driver!
A resident on a busy road.
Also a concerned parent.
And a pedestrian.
Heaven only knows what cyclists suffer.

Yes but Japan has trains that go through underground tunnels at 200mph
and the whole of Singapore is only 20 miles across.
