What about Mérida Bikes?

I believe that Merida is a big factory in Taiwan that manufacturs for other brands, too. I could be wrong.

Well, i have Merida road 901 bike. Its entery level Al bike (2004 year model)- not the lightest around, but the built and finifh quality is very good. Merida is better known among MTB riders. Its hard to compare it to Scott or Trek- actualy i think Merida never seriously pushed on marketing Road bikes. As alienator mentioned, Merida owns factory and makes Al bikes for lot of manufacturers. So i belive they are capable to make best qality Al bikes around. (could be wrong, but i have red that Merida owns substancial amont of shares in Specialized)
I suppose their carbon frames are made by other (carbon specific) company. Scultura frame recived very good reviews in both- British reviews and German tests- if that makes any sense. If the price is right (bit lower than Scott, Trek i think would be fair) and it fits well, i would consider Merida bike for sure. Try it (and report your opinion then).

I'll be visiting the shop maybe this friday to take a look at them, they are supposed to be available on wednesday or thursday. I'll report at least how they look and fit and finish from what I'll be able to see on friday.
They said they'll be bringing frames and complete bikes but were not sure about the models, colors and sizes.
