So far I have been riding solo all the time. I lached up to a couple of rides along the way only twice, and gotta admit I enjoyed it cause it made me work harder. It seems (maybe just in my area) that alot of riders are very snobby / stuck up, as far as passing each other (on opposite sides going opposite way) giving "the stare" as they go by. I try to at least give a head wave as I go by, (or maybe I should stop huh?? ) 😕

find a group ride and you'll find others in the same boat you are and as you have stated and wisely at that, you will have better, stronger and more experienced riders to try and keep up with which is what you want in the first place and as far as the other people who give you crappy looks, well, stick your middle finger at them while grabbing your testicles and if they don't like it, [censored] on 'em.

the one aspect of cycling i hate, dumb ass snobby riders. they're everywhere so just ignore them. and make sure you work and work and work for it and become faster than them too, that'll really rattle their cage. 😎

  2. Yes, good thinking, I agree. I just laugh to myself. If I only had huge logos on my jersey w/ matching shorts (which I think looks great) and a brand new ride w/ some aero rims, I could be goin 10 mph and be cool.🙂 Here I am goin @17-20 mph average and bustin as hard as I can, but because I got a plain jersey and black shorts w/ toe clips, I'm automaticaly an a$$ . lol.

tell 'em Preston sent you. 😄

  4. or i'll tell 'em if you're too scared....just sayin'..

  5. Actualy to be honest, I did just pick up a nice yellow Canari jacket on sale that NOW matches my Livestrong Giro helmet, lol. Add my Oakley's to the equation and I'm a PRO... 😎

  6. On the more "back on earth" and serious side, I'm about to start doing some TT's tomorrow I hope.

  7. Today's twilight ride - a short 8-mile loop, set a new personal pace record. 😎

On Monday I'll most likely embark on one of the longer routes I've mapped out but haven't ridden yet, since I'm off that day. Saturday I'm gonna be helping a friend move some furniture to a new apartment, Sunday is my sister's Sweet 16.

The second annual Plymouth Rock Triathlon happens this weekend as well so I'll have to work around that - there are three different events, one on Saturday and two on Sunday. One of my neighbors raced in it last year doing the bike segment on a relay team.

I asked my neighbor a while ago if he was gonna ride in it again this year, he wasn't sure at the time because he wanted to check out the route first.

well tell him to not pull a levi and only drive the route but a Lance and ride it. supposedly the evidence suggests that that is the way to go if you want to win. 😎

  13. Went out for a ride today and was feeling good! Well, after about ten miles I stopped for about 5 minutes to talk with someone passing by and then I was off again. I noticed that after the brief stop that I could not regain that loving feeling! The rest of the ride was somewhat of a struggle and my legs felt very heavy. This has happened once before and now has me wondering why I feel like this after a brief stop? I rarely stop but she was particularly attractive!😄 Anyone else encounter this problem?

i wish. i have rednecks and cow [censored] to talk to down here.

  15. My ride today

Nowhere near as much as I wanted to go, and no speed records broken by any stretch of the imagination....

I'll be the first to admit it - I'm still an amateur....

See, your mindset is all wrong. Any time spent on the bike is good time.
