26"? That's never a 26" frame - more like 26" wheels. 1.86m is around 6ft - and that bike is way too small for someone of that size. If you're 6ft you'll look like a circus clown with his knees sticking out. If you're knee high to a grasshopper then it should fit you just fine...

are you absolutely sure? feeling sick now, i might just not pay for it then

What makes you think you were "ripped off"? That phrase indicates you think the seller mislead you in some way, shape, or form.

Absent something nefarious said prior to the sale by the seller and that you relied upon, appears from your own admission that you failed to do your research beforefand with regard to purchasing a bike that would've constituted a "good deal".

From what I've read thus far, the seller found a willing buyer who is now having buyer's remorse after making an impulsive purchase...Hope you get things sorted out...

Thankyou for that fine analysis. Sorry if I used the wrong term. Why is the internet full of people trying to get one over on eachother constantly. I bet youre one of those people that argue about clips on youtube.

I'm sorry, I guess the Internet is solely the domain for people who want to agree with other. Counterpoint, stay home. Honesty, be damned! Disagreement, get lost! Someone much wiser than I said long ago: "the truth hurts"...

Pal, your best bet before you renege on your eBay deal with the seller is to look real hard in the mirror and 'own-up', and then 'suck-it-up' concerning the mistake you made. Don't point the crooked finger at me...I'm not the one to blame...

Damn, and here I am thinking I was takin' it easy on the noob...

Well, the wheels are listed as being "standard" 700c ... but, the information you provided doesn't match the picture.

Presuming the wheels are 700c, you don't worry about looking as though you are riding a bike that is used by Circus clowns.

I reckon the seller measured the distance between the seatpost & the junction of the stem & handlebar ...

So, if I'm right about where the 26" measurement came from, as long as you are between 5'8" & 5'11" the bike should fit you ... I'm not too sure about fitting someone who is as tall as the seller suggests unless that person likes to ride with a very aggressive handlebar to saddle posture. Perhaps he is 185cm tall.

Without knowing much about the frame & fork OR the actual wheelset, I'll say that you probably got an "okay" deal ...

It doesn't look like a bad bike, but the size looks more appropriate for someone in the 165-173 cm range. And the downtube shifters are a bit dated (but I bet they're indexed). And those are surely 700c wheels, but you can be sure by reading the tire sidewalls. Looking at the seller's spec list, I'd say he was just about as ignorant about the bike as you were.

I'd have a local shop do a tuneup and straighten out the build--level the saddle and handlebar, raise the brake levers, and fix anything else that's suspicious. Then present the bike to somebody who's shorter than you are.
