    Good point, I should have noted that in my original post. To apply you need to have made a minimum of 400 posts.

I can't see the application, so I don't know all the qualifications required to be a moderator, but I'm not sure using an arbitrary number of posts by a member as the primary qualification is a good idea. Just because a person has left many posts doesn't necessarily mean they have anything to say. Newer members shouldn't be disqualified simply because they haven't had time to rack up a certain number of messages. It seems to me, the type of questions asked and the quality of responses to questions would be a better criteria.
