Johan Bruyneel, manager of the new RadioShack team headlined by Lance Armstrong, has finalised a 2010 team roster boasting riders from 16 countries.

"It is a well balanced team," Bruyneel said of the team that will gather for the first time in Tucson, Arizona, in the second week of December.

"We have experienced riders - with some of them I worked already many years in my former teams - but we also have young talents who can develop in the perfect environment.

"I am happy that our sponsors want to invest in the future of cycling. Our main goal will be the Tour de France and other stage races but I am confident that, with these riders, we can perform very well in the one-day races as well."

Seven-time Tour de France winner Armstrong announced the new team during the Tour de France. He finished third overall in the Tour while racing for Astana, his first participation in the race since securing his seventh yellow jersey in 2005, after which he retired.

Armstrong said in August that winning an eighth Tour de France title is his goal.

Clever them for picking up Beppu and Li, having the Far Eastern market covered. It'll be good for Radio Shack's marketing message, as well as opening a major potential market with future sponsorship $$$.

Skil-Shimano not informed about departure Beppu

The management of the Skil-Shimano team is surprised by the news that Fumiyuki Beppu seems to have signed a contract for 2010 with another team. The 26 years old Japanese rider, part of the Skil-Shimano team since 2008, has a contract with the team of manager Iwan Spekenbrink till 2010. “We are verifying the facts with the people involved to get this situation clear”, says Spekenbrink. “For now we assume that Beppu will be in our team next season.”

it's not like sky or radioshack have to worry about being reprimanded by the uci. a few contributions should go a long way towards resolving the issues.

Can't wait to hear glorification of team classification at the Tour from Lance & co. That's the only classification which they can win... And it isn't exactly what they're looking for (it never was).
Maybe they can even take the third spot on the podium.

Yep, it'll receive a lot of support from the middle aged and cashed up amateur roadies who are facing their MLC, a major growing market for the sport. 😄

Fumiyuki Beppu signed on Radio Shack, eventhough he still has a contract with Skil-Shimano for 2010, and 2 weeks ago they (Skil-Shimano) announced he's on the squad for next year. What's up with that ?

Very strong squad, I have to say.

Gert Steegmans is a good signing.

But watch out for this man Geoffroy Lequatre.
I think this guys is a very very classy rider.

Clever my a$$. Just shows them for who they really are - after the All Mighty Dollar, and after as much media exposure/coverage as they can create, cajole, muster, etc...Shyt, they'd put me on the squad if they thought I could bring 'em some dinero...

In my world, the dollar is not All Mighty. Nonetheless, we are dealing with 'Lance Armstrong', the brand now...

It'll be good to see Viagra, Geritol, Depends, AARP, and any other advanced age product commercials during the Tour coverage in N. America next year. Gotta admit they've got the aged market covered too...😄
