  1. Last year was my first year riding. I put 3200 miles on my bike. I loved riding. By summer I was ave 17 to 20 mph. At age 51 it was a great way to exercise. I did 3 century rides. I took a routine stress test and failed it. I just had quadruple bypass ( Dec 11 ). My right coronary artery was 100% blocked, my circumflex coronary artery was 95% blocked in 2 places and my left was 85% blocked. I had a lot of collateral growth which keep me going. I had very little signs expect for the fact I was slower going up hills then other. I thought it was because of age. Has anyone here had bypass and then by summer had a great riding season. I hope to. If you have any good stories about recovery I would like to hear them.

  2. Luckily no, but I know people that have had bypass surgery and were not cyclist, As a matter of fact most maintained a very bad lifestyle previous to the heart attack with abad diet and no exercise.
I wish you good luck and long life.
