I recently purchased a used Saris trailer hitch rack that mounts to the bikes forks like some roof racks do. My concern is that I can not find any manufacturers who still make this style of fork mount in a sideways layout such as a trailer hitch rack. Is that because the lateral forces experienced during braking are excessive and could damage the fork? By the way, none of my bikes have carbon fiber forks.
