Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I've posted. I bought a trek 1000 in 2005. Sometime in the past few days, it got stolen 😠
Stolen bicycles probably aren't uncommon... The strange thing is that someone actually climbed onto my second floor balcony to get it. They got my wife's bicycle too. Probably lost about $1600 worth of property. The good news is that the bicycles are explicitly covered on my renter's insurance, so I'm expecting some reimbursement (I hope, never dealt with filing a claim before)...
Anyway, I'm looking for a new bike now. My old bike was a triple. I understand triples are rare now. That's fine with me. My bike had a lot of trouble shifting. So I'm wondering... Which bikes should I look at, if the most important things me are...
1. Comfort -- Must fit perfectly! The Trek 1000 wasn't a great fit, didn't know any better at the time
2. Components must be ultegra or comparable quality. The soras on my trek 1000 were bad. Real bad.
3. Must be under $2000
Thanks 😄
