My no flat tires streak has finally ended

At least you found it at home instead of in the middle of nowhere. I hate having to change tubes by the side of the road.

Yep, that was a good thing. I rode my old Paramount instead and fixed the flat on the C-dale this afternoon.

I've gone bout 4 years now without a flat. Must admit I havn't done a whole lot of cycling lately due to other comitments

I feel your pain. A few weeks ago, I had two stem flats in the same day - one on each wheel - thank goodness not whilst riding... :eek:

5 years puncture free! How do you manage that?
Longest I have gone is about 6 months, admittedly here we host The World Glass Smashing Champs most Friday and Saturday nights, so it's usually when my tyres are getting close to the end of their lives that I get a puncture.

Count yourself lucky.

I did a ride last fall in the Finger Lakes of New York State. Four flats for me that ride, and two flats for my ride buddies. After one repair to my rear tire (in the rain) I remounted and the front flatted before a single crank revolution.

It seems the road was covered in these very sharp little stones that just chewed up my tires. Plus the rain didn't help the conditions any either.

Tani, I like to think it's the wonderful tires I bought, but the reality that it's probably mostly luck. LOL on the Glass Smashing Champs, based on the amount of broken bottles I've seen on the street so far this year, I think they may be starting a league in my neighborhood.

I do feel lucky, Yojimbo. 5 years is long time without a flat.

That would definitely suck having 4 flats on one ride, but having to fix them in the rain is really adding insult to injury. You're more devoted than I am, if I had 2 flats on one ride I'd be heading home.

Stem flats really suck - and blow at the same time... 😄

Living in the UK I find I'd be lucky to go 3 weeks without a flat. There's more potholes than should be allowed and it'd down right bloody infuriating. In typical English fashion I wrote a letter to the council asking if they'd pay for the inner tubes their badly maintained roads had ruined; so far no response :P
