  1. Does anybody know of a good UK insurance company for higher value bikes?

    There are plenty to choose from, until you read the small print... typically:

    - My home contents cover only goes up to £1500.00 per bike (maybe on balance, over time, that's enough cover vs. the cost of an additional premium).
    - I've Googled and found a company that insists on using a 'D' lock away from the home (like a roadie with a 7kg bike is going to carry one of those everywhere).

    I wonder what else is out there.

    I also wonder what proportion of cyclists actually bother with additional insurance to their home contents.
