25mph, lots of noise!!!

I am sure the noise was enough to raise your heart rate a tad. Not the best of ideas but the first thing I do when I get a new bike is remove the reflectors. I keep them on hand in case I need them in the future. zc

Here in Ohio, if you want to be legal, you have to have front, side, and rear reflectors intact. I don't mind the front and rear but I don't like anything in my wheels except spokes and the magnet for my computer.

Here they are required by law. And if anything happens, I want to be legal.

Even with headlights and tail light you still need the reflectors.

Lewis and Clark had some laying around and gave me a replacement.

I am not to sure about the laws in Massachusetts. Cyberlegend do you know?

Here in Michigan, all bicycles sold must have the required reflectors. But the new owner is free to remove them. They are only required for riding after dark.

I wouldn't remove anything that downgrades your safety. Spoke reflectors are a great addition to your safety from the side, they're your left and right wing defence. Like everything else on a bike they need checking on a regular basis to make sure they haven't worked loose.
