  1. I am using 10-speed Ultegra SL shifters from 2008 with a 7900 RD and 7900 chain. Are these systems fully compatible? I have been using this setup for over a year, so it obviously works, but shifting is never flawless. I have heard that the pull ratios might be slightly different between SL and 7900. I still have an SL FD because the pull ratio for the front is much different and requires it. My concern is the rear shifting.

    Thanks a lot

  2. Hi jojoma, yes, it is suppose to be compatible :-)

Are you sure that you have setup the 7900 RD, correctly? If so, you could always try a 6600 or 7800 chain :-)

PS: My friend is using my 7800 RD with a 12-27T ultegra cassette, a 7800 chain, and 105 STI shifter, and he said that it is working perfectly ... very precise, quiet and smooth :-)
