Anyone here have experience, or knows of the quality of the Scattante Single Speed bike in the Americano series? They are made by the Performance/Fuji brand right? How do they ride?... also, just curious about the weight (doesn't seem to list them in the spec sheet on their website) --- Any info would be greatly appreciated...thanks!

Looks like a nice bike. I've got a Scattante alu/carbon bike and I like it fine.
Frankly the "fixie" popularity escapes me. I just spent the same money on a 27-speed hybrid for my wife and it's a much more useful bike. It goes just as slow on the flat as a fixie and looks as good doing it, but you can also go up hills and go fast on it.
I remember when I was a kid when someone had a "10-speed" bike. That was living the dream. Now folks seem to want my old single-gear groaner.
Would be like making a brand new mustang with a crappy old suspension and a 30-year old motor.
