  1. Flu shots are available this year for everyone who wants to take one.
Everyone who isn't allergic to eggs should get one. There's no other
valid excuse that I can think of for not getting one. However, there
are two totally invalid excuses that many people commonly give for not
    getting one:

    1) "The flu shot will give me the flu." This is total boloney. Medical professionals say this is
impossible since the flu germs being injected via the shot are dead! Yet many people continue to
harbor this foolish idea. No sir/maa'm, they don't let the facts get in the way of what they want
to believe. They will say, "I got the flu shot one time and then got the flu a day or two later.
That proves the flu shot gives people the flu.". Well, okay, I once drive past a cell phone tower
and got a stomach virus the next day! Does this mean the cell phone tower gave me a stomach
virus? In the future, should I avoid driving past cell phone towers in order avoid a stomach
virus? Of course not, that would be silly but no sillier than the idea of thinking the flu shot
    will give someone the flu.

    2) "I don't get the flu, so I don't need the shot." Just because you haven't gotten the flu in the
last 5, 10, or even 20 years doesn't mean you won't get it this year. The flu germs are different
every year, so you don't know when your luck is going to run out. I've found that this excuse is
generally given by people who are either afraid of shots or rarely see their doctor.

  2. Um, questions. Are the vacs made from last years "flu"? And this years model
is different? Why do you not promote ways for people to help their immune
system and avoid being susceptible to "flu"?

They're made from this year's flu germs. And yes I do promote boosting the immune system. I advocate
using supplements like zinc and vitamin c to do that. However, I think the flu shot is needed as
well. The immune system can only be boosted so much.

    Why?

To cover all bases instead of just a few and cut the risk of getting it even more. Which would be
the worst mistake..to get the flu shot and not need it or to not get the flu shot and then get the
flu because you didn't have the extra protection it offered? If you were going to jump out of an
airplane and someone offered you a second parachute, would you turn it down and say "no thanks, I
already have one"? I just think of the flu shot as an extra "parachute" just in case my immune
    system needs more help.
