I'm thinking about getting a new bike. Yet, I have no idea whether I should get a cyclocross or roadie(I will not be riding off track. 100% paved road, but will do simple tricks like bunny hopping and wheelies) Also, should it be single speed or what? I will be circling the island where I live next month but will just ride in the cities afterwards. Which (brand, type) would you recommend? Thanks.

If the roads you will be riding on are relatively FLAT & you won't be heading into the hill country, then you may only need a SINGLE SPEED ...
It will just be a matter of deciding on the appropriate gearing ...
If you are planning on doing "tricks" on the bike, then a STEEL fork is probably a good idea ...
If you want the MOST versatility, then a Single Speed 29er would be MY recommendation ...
I want to say that SALSA makes an appropriate Single Speed 29er which you should look at ...
RALEIGH also has a Single Speed 29er.
