Greece should have been disbarred from joining the Euro for the good of the Greeks themselves and for the good of the Euro.
I have a lot of sympathy for the ordinary Greek person but your country's politicians betrayed the ordinary citizen nearly a decade ago.
And the same politicians are doing it now. Why is Greece buying 6 submarines from Germany, when at the same time that Swiss Red Cross are cutting off
supplies of blood?
Actually I think that this is the stuff that we are supposed to know by reading the news and watching tv and they very often tend to be inaccurate. Goldman sachs says that it did something 13 years ago like Armstrong says he did something too. The news have a go and you hear about the new "car rental service" in the commercials.
I am not a politician, I used to work in an office so I have no idea what is really going on and may I say nobody does except the people who run the show. Maybe they are doing it in purpose so people will be become more resourceful, who knows?
As far for the whole euro-thing, I dont care if I have to use moon-stones with the face of baby boo boo on them to buy beer as long as I have enough to buy the stuff I want and have an income. Sure its convenient not to need a passport to go to the next country but a passport only costs 50euro to issue for several years. I dont think that I need to be a EU citizen to get a job in the EU anyway so the whole work free-flow thing is kinda nonsense too. Actually what really makes me wonder is the huge scale of these EU related "organizations" which are probably sucking in a tonn of money every year to make EU blah blah websites and EU regulations and EU whatever whilst there is still some quite substantial problems in most of the EU countries.
As far as the whole military thing, Greece has some very dodgy borders. This could be the answer to the excessive militarization. If you ever visit Greece, send me a pm, I can tell you some very "interesting" hmmm "UFO hotspots" in the north... [IMG]/img/vbsmilies/smilies/wink.gif[/IMG] Allthough I think its because a game is played between the weapon manufacturers and the governments. Quite alot of ex-defence politicians have been accused of stuff "around here"... Basically as I said to the fellow poster "Campybob" a submarine is pretty useless, since the best fish is near the surface anyway, but it needs at least 500 people working for the submarine at a 1200+euro salary for like 50 years or so. This is probably what the military is doing pretty much lately I think, creating jobs which are not needed and not beneficial (have you seen a militarized area?).
