1. It wasn't as hard as I thought, I guess the overall training regimen over many months did it's job, even though the past few weeks have been bad. All 100k, in about 5.5 hours total, taking about half an hour / 45 minutes total breaks. Beautiful day for it, light overcast with peaks of sun, mild temps, gentle breeze, low humidity. I ended up raising $628 in donations. Got a cool commemorative jersey out of the deal, as well as a t-shirt, lunch, and some photos with the friends I rode with. It was awesome, and I would certainly do it again next year. I'll be up to doung the 100 mile ride in 2014.

    Sounds good!

  3. Excellent! Great job!

  4. Good on ya.

  5. Awesome. That wasn't so bad, was it? Onward and upward.

  6. No, it was cool. Next year, the 100 miles, not the 100 K. Hey, I even tried to meet someone - wrong of me, tacky? Probably. But, saw her a few times, talked with her at a couple of the rest areas, thought we obviously had cycling in common. Got "buzz off creep" vibes, so I did. Oh well. Maybe she plays for the other team.

You know you could very well ride a century this year. 38 extra miles isn't that much. There are a surprisingly high number of bicycling hook-ups. Maybe your playdar needs adjusting.

  8. Adjusting is an understatement, my radar when it comes to women is about as up to date as the computer they used in 1962 to put John Glenn into orbit. And, as a buddy told me last week, "your problem is that you really really need to get laid". He's right, I'm a pig, what can I say. Yeah, I could handle a century ride. Need to do it this summer, my fall suddenly got gloomy, cardiologist told me I need some surgery in the fall.

  9. "Maybe she plays for the other team."

    LMAO!

  10. Wel, ya know, why else would any woman pass up a stud like me?

Well that's sucktacular. Well, then you definitely need to get a few swings in with your bat. In Detroit, $50-100 should get you a few laps around the bases.

  12. In Detroit? Try $10 and a bottle of cheap tequila.

You need to stop in the big box store!

  14. Yeah, looks like a good place to work out some frustrations. Or, get arrested and lose my job on a morals/ethics violation. At least I would be in good company, half of the circuit court judges in Wayne County got caught with their pants down a few years ago in a prostitution ring bust. If not The Ho Depot, there's always a Ho's-R-Us down the road in the next strip mall.

Now that is a shop i'd like to visit. Will wait for the buy one, get one free special.

  17. This is great. I've done fundraisers like this. If you ride all the time a little more or even a lot more is not that hard to do. It is kind of fun raising the money and giving it. Good for you.
