Cycling Clothing

Giordana is my favorite, followed closely by Assos, but Assos is an expensive option. I also have stuff from Voler and Champion that is decent. I'm not a fan of Pearl Izumi kit at all.

i bought a pair of Endura knee warmers, im quite satisfied with them

And what about material? I like merino wool for example.

I'm not a fan of merino wool, wouldn't the synthetic alternatives be better now days?

Sure, everyone has his/her own favourites. I really do like merino wool. As for this I found quite interesting new brand with cycling clothing. They have a stupid website but their stuff looks really good IMHO. Do you have some experience with them?

I bought a 40euro thermal long sleeved layer which was made from Odlo (pretty good thermal stuff manufacturer). Its made of some crazy synthetic material which is warm etc and it also has a material that is supposed to minimize odour build up.

If you dont sweat its fine. If you do sweat however it stinks afterwards... and you are supposed to wash it on 90 celcious...

I dont think thats the same with wool. You get all the moisture wicking properties of synthetics plus a friendlier to skin more natural material probably. Its not like jumper wool quality its a different kind and its all procesed anyway so you wont look like "Conan the barbarian". [IMG]files.cyclingforums.combig smile.pngOpen ↗[/IMG]

Looks like competition in the "Rapha space".

I'm not too focused on brands - more in fit and fabric performance. Once I find something that works I tend to buy duplicates or same model/different colors. Started with PI P.R.O. and Octane, which have good wicking properties and seem to be durable. Chamois are good > better than general. Have been very pleased pleased with Gore kit. Rest of kit is a mixed bag - Giordana, Hincapie, Assos, 2XU, Craft. Problems with heat, so prefer sleeveless jerseys which are more difficult to find.

Haven't explored merino for cycling. Tried it for skiing, but prefer compression fit synthetics which is what I used for cool/cold weather cycling when I started biking.

Depends on what kind of cycling you are doing -- obviously, you will dress very differently for mountain biking than for road cycling for speed. For recreational/fitness riding, I am a big fan of Zoic -- they are really good at putting handy pockets in just the right places in their shorts. I also like REI's house brand, Novara. The most comfortable pair of shorts I own is Performance Cycle's Ultra Shorts. Alas, one big problem - no pockets at all, and those pockets do come in handy.
